  First of all I would like to thank all of you who visit this webpage. I hope this will give you an opportunity to peer into a little bit of Chinese culture in the local Calgary scene.I've been instructing kids for more than 10 years now and everyday, what these young people can accomplish amazes me. From sheer strength and focus to sheer determination, all of this done on a volunteer basis. I believe what drives these kids is a sense of pride, not just for the school, but also for their culture. The Jing Wo Martial Arts and Athletics Association does its best to ensure that the students can at least take that sense of pride with them as they grow older. Through Martial Arts training and Lion Dance, the students develop strength, discipline, and perhaps a sense of renewed identity as most of the students who join are Canadian born. Also being Canadian born myself, the Jing Wo allows me to develop more of my personal skills in the Chinese language, history and social protocol. To the students who read this, I hope that this message will give you more insight into why we drive so hard to achieve or goals. Also, remember that kinship and teamwork are also vital in achieving these goals as we mature. To those who are interested in joining the Jing Wo, I hope this message will open your eyes to what people can accomplish if they work together positively.
